We have space for new clinicians.

Sirona Counseling is a private group practice where every clinician is a 1099 contracted professional. This means you’re in charge of your own practice, send your own claims, promote yourself (we’ll promote you as well), determine your own referral sources, bill your clients, and operate under the brand of the group. There’s definitely a learning curve, but once you learn all these things, they become second-nature and take up very little of your time per week. That’s just part of being self-employed. It’s not for everyone, but if you’re looking for more independence and want to learn about the business side of what you do instead of just seeing clients and documenting, it might be for you.

We have an office suite in Farmington with 6 offices and a kitchenette. Each office has windows and furniture, artwork, pillows, throw blankets, bookshelves, and lamps. We aim for a comfortable, casual feel.

What’s the benefit of joining Sirona Counseling as a 1099 contracted professional?

Number one for many of us is - you keep more of the remittance you generate. Sirona is a clinician-centered group. We are clinician owned and operated, not part of a large organization or corporation. We pride ourselves on supporting one another. You’d have the option of meeting weekly as a group to discuss business and practice. We are not just a group of random therapists who happen to work under one brand. We are a community who support one another. We offer support in credentialing, dealing with insurance, learning about billing, and using Simple Practice (our EHR). You’ll have help onboarding. You won’t be given a list of tasks and left to figure it out on your own.

Why join a 1099 group instead of a W2 group?

While some groups offer W2 employment with some benefits and maybe a biller/scheduler, you will receive 50% or less of your billing and claim remittance.

As a 1099 professional you’ll receive at least 70% of your billing and remittance. Then you choose how to budget for your taxes and insurance, which typically costs less than the amount you’d lose as a W2 employee. You’d also be considered self-employed, which means the cost of your business expenses is usually a write off, lowering your taxable income.
